Veraalba Santa is a Puerto Rican actor and dance artist based in New York City and is a member of CABORCA since 2013 (The Entitlement, Hamlet, Zoetrope, Floridita, my Love ,Correo de la Noche). Santa has worked with award winning directors, choreographers and filmmakers such as Paul Zimet from TALKING BAND in City of no Illusions (2019), Lynne Sachs (Your Day is My Night (2012), The Washing Society (2018), Ari Maniel Cruz (Quien Eres Tú? (2017), Sally Silvers (Bonobo Milkshake (2012), If You Try (2017) and ALONG (2018), Doris Mirescu (Paris Belongs to Us (2013) ) and Viveca Vázquez (Chewing English, Hemispheric Institute CORPOLITICS -Buenos Aires, Argentina (2009). Veraalba also starred and co-produced the experimental indie film The Sound of Ill Days (2017) written and directed by Rojo Robles. As a Dance Artist she has presented her work in Danspace Project’s Food For Thought at St.Marks Church (Double Backing), was Artist in Residence at LA ESPECTACULAR in Casa Cultural Ruth Hernández (Cuerpo-Archivo-Camara), Gibney Dance 3.0. Work-Up Artist (A Series on Non-Beginnings) and La MaMA Moves Dance Festival 2017 (Ya no es canción-es grito) for which she was awarded the Foundation for Contemporary Art’s Emergency Grant. She is a graduate from The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre (NYC) and holds a BA in Drama from The University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras.
